Pharmacists Association supports the use of uniform standards
for and the interoperable exchange of information through
health information technology (HIT).

The California Pharmacists Association supports allowing
pharmacists to include and maintain records of over-thecounter products, professional services, diagnoses, and
therapeutic outcomes in HIT.
The California Pharmacists Association supports HIT, allowing
healthcare providers access to all information necessary
to provide optimal patient care, while ensuring sufficient
safeguards for Protected Health Information.
Evidence-Based Medicine: The California Pharmacists
Association supports the utilization of evidence-based medicine
to care for our patients.
HOD accepted motion to adopt new policy.
Cybersecurity: The California Pharmacists Association
supports the commitment to cybersecurity, and related
education and training, for all pharmacy-related parties to
safeguard patient care.
HOD accepted motion to adopt new policy.
New Business Item: CPhA supports pharmacist involvement
in regular self-assessments of surgery centers and veterinary
clinics that store controlled substances.
