Pastrick Completes 50 Years of Service to the CPhA HOD
Michael A. Pastrick, BSPharm, long-time parliamentarian in the CPhA House of Delegates, completed 50 years of service at the
2025 sessions of the House. Starting as a delegate in 1976, he became the parliamentarian in 1990, a role he has continued each
year since then.
Pastrick also has many titles and accomplishments to his credit: University of the Pacific pharmacy graduate in 1973, CPhA President
in 1986 and Pharmacist of the Year in 1992, and mayor and council member of his hometown, Concord, from 1993 through 2002.
Pastrick was inducted into the California Pharmacy Hall of Fame in 2014.
In pharmacy practice, Pastrick had brief stints in community and home care pharmacy before joining the staff of Mt. Diablo
Medical Center (now John Muir Health) in 1988. His roles have included Project Director for Pharmacy Services, Cost Containment
Pharmacist, Clinical Pharmacist, and Lead Pharmacist for Oncology–Investigational Studies.
As a long-standing community leader, Pastrick is especially recognized for his role with Concord Ambassadors, a nonprofit group
managing Concord’s sister-city relationship with Kitakami, Japan. In 2024, he was recognized with the Mayor’s Community Service
Award for his significant contributions to organizing the 50th anniversary of the sister city relationship, which included hosting a
major delegation from Kitakami and various community festivities.
